Hythloth - Smell of Sulphur and Death
fter a couple of exciting
adventures, like teleporting down to level 2 of Wrong and being surrounded by about 10 Ettins and Ogres, slaying
hundreds of Skeletons and Zombies in Deceit, and taking out an Orc camp near the Shrine of Justice, I had
collected so many items, bone armor pieces and scrolls that my bank box got overloaded. I had to sell some of the stuff in
Trinsic.

After taking care of cleaning out my bank box, I thought it would be a good time to visit one of the most dangerous dungeons, a place where I never had been before: Hythloth! I met my friend KugelBlitz, who had time to join me on this adventure. I assumed that it might be too dangerous going there alone. KugelBlitz brought a rune to Hythloth, which hadn't been tested before, but it should bring us directly to a spot inside the dungeon. I was curious to find out what we would see there.

We had cast the recall spell and were immediately surrounded by packs of Hell Hounds, Daemons, Gargoyles and Orcs! As often in such situations, the world froze for a minute. When I regained consciousness I already had lost most of my life energy. I tried to run from the monsters that had attacked me, but it was too late. I watched those foul beast feasting upon my body through my greyed vision. KugelBlitz had been more lucky, he had been able to hide. He gathered my belongings and another friendly warrior gated us back to town. I instantly re-equipped and we returned to Hythloth.

We recalled back in, and this time none of us died. We had a great time fighting the creatures from hell. In some areas, masses of orcs and hellhounds appeared at the same time, and many fighters engaged them with wielding weapons. One hint for all adventurers: You should wear the Reactive Armor spell, or else you're doomed.

From every corner of the dungeon one could hear the clashing of weapons and the words of power. Many adventurers were fighting monsters down here, and there was hardly enough to slay for everyone. During the raging battle I noticed that I was slowly running out of reagents, so we decided to leave Hythloth and take a rest in Trinsic, our home town.
My head ached as I sunk down on the tavern bed. My scarred armor, torn clothes and the blood stained weapons were piled up in a corner of the small room as I fell instantly asleep...
