Sweet Retaliation

oday Hawkeye Pike planned to go to some dungeons again, together with Gerion Vex, a reliable comrade. This was the second time Hawkeye wanted to enter a dungeon to test his blade on the evil creatures. Hawkeye had become very strong, and his profession of fencing had increased. He now was almost Grandmaster Fencer, and his strength was immense!

First they went to Wrong. At once they were attacked by two murderers. Gerion and Hawkeye fled outside the dungeon, for Hawkeye coudn't see very well in the darkness. The murderers followed, and Hawkeye attacked one of them with his fast kryss. That gave Gerion the chance to cast some spells, while the pirate almost killed one murderer. The scoundrels seemed quite irritated, for they surely hadn't expected such a resistance from their victims.

Unfortunately Gerion had to recall, for he was severely wounded. Hawkeye had to flee by foot, for he wasn't able to cast spells. He escaped, leaving two frustrated murderers behind.

The next dungeon should be Deceit. As soon as they had entered the narrow tunnels, a bunch of murderers appeared, and attacked Hawkeye. The pirate fought fiercely against four enemies with his kryss, and almost managed to kill one of them, a guy who called himself "Vrin's footstool". The fight took very long, but finally Hawkeye died by a deadly spell.

As the evil murderers looted the pirate's corpse, they were pretty disappointed, finding only a kryss, some empty bags and an old bone armor. Hawkeye couldn't help laughing while watching these fools and their angry faces. Of course they had expected gold, magic weapons or at least reagents. But the pirate was neither a mage, nor a highly equipped super fighter. He was a man of the seas, and he preferred to travel light.

Gerion was able to escape, because Hawkeye kept all of the scoundrels busy. That was good, because the death of Gerion would have been a much greater material loss. So this scum was left behind in doubt, mistrusting each other.

Being fed by the murderers, Gerion suggested a trip to the Rat Valley. He expected some good and fair fights with orcs and ratmen there. But again a murderer called Elyas Manchera appeared, and stole something from Shari ap Tyr, a lady we met on our way. At once Hawkeye attacked him.

Alas the murderer was so fast on his horse, that he always managed to escape in the critical situations. After fighting him again and again for half an hour, everybody was sick of this game. As the murderer returned, the three friends talked to him, and this time they had met some evil guy with honor. They congratulated each other for their fighting skills, and everybody went his own way again.
