The World Changes

al Res Por! A foul reek hung in the air as McBykar traveled through his magical gate to Moonglow. At once he realized what was been going on. Rotting and desiccated corpses of liches and undead lay around, and the stone pavers around the bank were bloodstained and littered with the bodies of fighters and merchants. The undead had tried to take Moonglow. Even zombies of blue and green hue had been spotted and slain after a long and cruel battle. This had yet been another excrescence of Lady Minax's longing for power in Britannia.
A short while after McBykar found that these strange stone columns appearing in all cities of Britannia suddenly had begun to glow.

Messengers reported also of massive attacks on many other cities, including Britain. It had happened suddenly, and nobody save the rulers of this kingdom had expected such an assault. Lord British's mage, Nystul, had been preparing for this challenge by placing those pillars, and he was working on some mysterious spell to save the citizens of Britannia. The power of Lady Minax had been underestimated. An escape plan had been devised, and while Minax's forces spread evil and destruction around the world, Nystul activated the escape spell by using the pillars. The power of his magic created a mirror of Britannia, a peaceful place where the powers of Minax are of no effect.

The new and peaceful world was called Trammel, and the world of hardly controlled danger and crime was called Felucca. They were named after the two moons of Britannia. Anyone who wishes to go to Trammel may do so by using moonstones. It is reported that finding Felucca moonstones for travelling back to the old world are a bit rare.

When McBykar woke up the morning after Nystul had cast his spell, he yawned and drowsily put on his clothes. It had been a restless night. Strange dreams had haunted him, and the earth had been trembling. Drowsily he stepped out of his hut and walked to the forest, when suddenly he stood like he was frozen to the ground. He rubbed his eyes and looked again. Was it autumn already? The trees had lost its leaves! The once so green and fresh ferns and the soft grass on the ground of his forest was littered with bones and soaked with blood. Gravestones all over the forest, wherever he went! McBykar turned his back to this desolate view and returned into his cottage.

In Lord British's Castle McBykar discovered strange alchemical symbols on the floor - probably runes which were used by Nystul to prepare his spell.
