Conflict With the Drow

rop anchor!" The pirate ship anchored silently west of the Empath Abbey in Yew, out of sight of the landlubbers frequenting the bank there. Blind Dog and Hawkeye set foot on the shore, to scout the area, while the others waited by the vessel. In Yew the two pirates just met a few goblins and few other enemies. So the Pirates of Buccaneer's Den decided to set up a blockade at the Empath Abbey entrance, and demand some tribute from passing travellers.

Soon some virtuous men frowned upon their actions, and it did not take long, before they called for enforcement. The pirates were strongly outnumbered, and again it was the Drow who had messed with their business. These dark elves always were involved whenever the pirates were in trouble. After a short battle the scoundrels had been defeated, and they retreated into the Yew Winery to heal their wounds.

There they decided that it was time they paid back the open bill to the Drow. So they re-equipped and walked eastward into the forest, to visit the Yew Crypts, the home of the Dark Elves.
The pirates came across three or four Drow, and demanded 300 gold pieces from them. The situation was critical, as the pirates suspected the Drow would call for help immediately. So no time had to be lost, and a battle broke lose. A hidden Drow mage attacked Hawkeye with an energy bolt, while another one poisoned him deadly. Fortunately Hawkeye had some greater cure potions with him.

The battle did not last long. While the first two Drow fell quickly, the mage was chased through the woods, and lay in the dust after a little hunt. The pirates suspected that this would not really improve the friendship between the Drow and the Pirates of Buccaneer's Den...
