The Knowledge of Stonecrafting and Glassblowing
ndrej Pike was grandmaster in both mining and alchemy. Thus he met the requirements to learn the arts of stonecrafting and glassblowing. The appropriate books of knowledge could be aquired in a city called Ver Lor Reg, the City of Gargoyles, in Ilshenar. As Andrej was neither a skilled adventurer nor a fighter the trip was much too dangerous for him. He asked his brother Hawkeye Pike to do him the favor. Hawkeye gladly agreed. It was a welcome opportunity for loot and plunder! He mounted his Ethereal Ostard and took the road to the Yew Moongate.
From Yew he teleported to the Honor Moongate in Ilshenar and quickly found the nearby passage to the Central Area of Ilshenar.
As he entered, Hawkeye headed south until he reached a big desert. Passing it took some time because Hawkeye Pike was attacked more then once by a Sand Vortex, Elementals and other vile creatures.
Finally he reached the entrance to the City of Ver Lor Reg. A large stone stairway lead up into the monumental place. The mere looks of this city proved that the knowledge of stonecrafting had its roots here in the heart of the Gargoyle empire.
Ver Lor Reg always is worth a visit! Its coldness and yet beauty is unmatched in Sosoria. After looking around a bit, Hawkeye finally found the Gargoyles who were able to sell the books of knowledge for 10,000 gold pieces each. There the pirate learned that he would also need instructions for mining for stone and finding glass-quality sand. Each of them cost another 10,000. It was mere luck that Hawkeye's bank box was filled with enough gold from his previous adventures and the city had a bank. He paid the price of 40,000 gold pieces total, secretly cursed the greedy Gargoyles. He also decided that it would be a good idea to acquire a bunch of mallets and chisels and blow pipes, which he could buy for a few gold pieces. He loaded everything into his backpack and returned to Britannia.
Andrej Pike was more than happy when his brother returned safely with the two books and the two instructions in his backpack. He started to study those immediately. He found that once you knew the secrets of masonry and glassblowing, it wasn't so hard to create nice stone furniture, statues, vases and all kinds of flasks after all.
