Bard's Night and Consequences
nother day in New Haven. Another fight against landlubbers who refused to pay the 500 gold coins of security tax. The United Pirates were quite busy securing the streets of New Haven, and to compensate their expenses they had to collect a tax. However, not everybody was willing to pay, and the pirates would threaten and chase those parasites out of town. Keeping this town safe was almost a full-time job. And it was a challenge, as some of the landlubbers were exceptionally well equipped and had good fighting skills.
As the Purple Guardians of Honor announced their Bard's Night event, Hawkeye Pike and his mateys decided to participate and perform their favorite pirate stories and songs.
Scarst, Hawkeye Pike and Norrar told stories about piracy, sung a song about the new beginning of the United Pirates, and recited a poem about the pirate's life. They tried their best to attract notice to their performance, as the price money for the winner was above 1 million gold coins!
However, the jury decided to favor a landlubber's boring story (boring to the pirates' opinion), and only Scarst made it to the second place, winning 350,000 gold pieces. The pirates were not amused at all about the decision of the jury. A discussion started and finally escalated, resulting in the deaths of a few landlubbers and pirates. Next time they would have to try and infiltrate the jury...
