The Missing Troups of Meraktus
nce again, a group of brave adventurers had gathered in New Haven to set out for another challenging journey. The trip would lead them to Malas into the secret Minotaur City. McBykar already knew this place. It was one of his favorite hunting grounds. Only this time, they would not hunt Miasmas, but venture to the very end of the labyrinth. Tales of adventurers from earlier days promised that by slaying a horde of Minotaurs back there would finally summon Meraktus and his troups of Tromented Minotaurs.
After passing the grassy yard of the Miasma, the first challenge awaited them: On a winding bridge, a number of Reptalons, amongst them the most dangerous Rend, attacked the intruders with their dangerous fire breath, that would burn away half of your life energy. Thanks to the powerful Dragon pets, this obstacle was finally overcome and the group was able proceed.
At the eastern end of the City McBykar got acquainted with two legendary creatures dwelling only here. The first one spawned suddenly with a group of air elementals as the travelers passed by. It was a Mistral; much more dangerous than its Elemental friends, but not too powerful. Close to the Mistral, a beautifully colored orange bird was discovered. This so-called Pire damaged everyone who got near it with an aura of fire, killed some of the adventurers quite fast with its spells and bites, and was almost resistant to any kinds of fire attacks. It was moving very fast, and again it was the Dragons who finally brought it down.
As they were reaching the end of the labyrinth, the spawn of Minotaurs got thicker. Every now and then a couple of Drakes appeared out of nowhere, supporting their bovine friends. Mages, tamers, archers and warriors fought for almost two hours, fending off waves of Minotaur attackers. However, the rumors about an increasing spawn summoned by the followers of Meraktus proved to be wrong. The battlefield was covered with hundreds of Minotaur bodies. Slowly and carefully the group retreated back to the entrance, as recalling out of this place was not possible. The goal of the adventure was not reached, but it had been a lot of fun nevertheless.
