Revealing Britannian History

Many rumors have been spread about our new King, Lord Casca. His recent performance caused a lot of doubt and mistrust among Britannia's population. Thus, I decided to research in ancient libraries to find out more about Britannian history in general, and about the background of our new king specifically.

What is Known About Casca:
Two-and-a-half years ago, Casca was mentioned for the first time in the old books. Back then, he was called Casca of Heartwood and was known as an elf who had been of service for the kingdom in lighter matters of state and political issues. He was assigned as a prosecutor to the Ricardo trial. (For those who don't remember, Ricardo was the thief who stole an ancient artifact called "Zenith Scion" from the Ophidians, and thus unwillingly inciting the Ophidian War that washed over Papua and later over whole Britannia, causing thousands of deaths.) During this trial, Ricardo was sentenced to death, and Casca was commended for his efforts by the Royal Council.

Prison cart that transported Ricardo to the Yew Court:

Casca already had been elected a member of the Royal Council, when he announced the Festival of Frivolity more than half a year later. The festival was to distract the population of Britannia from several unsolved and queer incidents concerning blackrock (like Avery's discovery of secret blackrock rituals in the Blood Dungeon held by the Followers of Armageddon, and the theft of the Book of Truth from the Britannian Vault). While Lord Casca was secretly made Royal Ambassador doing nothing against the upcoming threat, Lord Francesco tried to strike against the Followers of Armageddon. The Royal Council seemed to be split into factions.

At a later time, the Royal Council was wiped out in a horrifying massacre contrived by the Followers of Armageddon with the help of the traitor Brian, and Casca was allegedly taken prisoner. He was later found deep down in a locked prison chamber beneath Reg Volom.

Casca being held prisoner beneath Reg Volom:

Recently, Casca spoke to the population of Britannia and explained that he was elected king by the new Royal Council. Unfortunately, nobody can tell who the members of the Royal Council are...

Who is Avery?
Avery once lead the investigations concerning blackrock, after the blackrock mine had been discovered in Haven two years ago. On behalf of Francesco, member of the Royal Council, he kept a close watch on blackrock traders together with Clainin. With the help of Avery, Francesco supported the construction of the Blackrock Detector machine in Moonglow, which the mage Kronos had started to build. Blackrock had caused a lot of trouble and even led to the destruction of Haven. This machine was to ensure the safety of Britannia.

The whole experiment went awry, the Blackrock Detector exploded, during which Kronos died and the other mages working on the project, Melissa and Dexter, were missing. Avery put up cannons and guards around the rift that had appeared, to protect the population. (Melissa meanwhile turned out to be working for the Followers of Armageddon.)

Security measures Avery had installed by the Moonglow rift:

Avery was later investigating some strange activities going on below the City of Britain. He suspected the Followers of Armageddon having something to do with it. He also disturbed a strange ceremony of the Followers of Armageddon deep down in the Blood Dungeon.

Just like Casca, Avery had been kidnapped during the Royal Council assassination. Right after he was set free, Casca had him imprisoned for reasons unknown. It seems Casca wanted information from Avery, which Avery could not or didn't want to share...

The Story of Clainin:
When Lord British vanished from our lands and Lord Blackthorn tried to rally the Juka to spread Chaos throughout Britannia, Clainin was the one negotiate and alliance with the Meer. The alliance was settled. As the Meer cast the powerful Decay spell to destroy the Juka, they learned that nature had skewed the Decay spell into something much more powerful and evil, which had caused the invasion of swamp creatures all over the Yew area.

Clainin was the only surviver of the Royal Council assassination many years later (while Casca and Avery had been kidnapped by the criminals), but he was severely injured and is bedridden in New Haven ever since. While Clainin cannot be questioned, Casca claimed that it was Clainin's will that he'd become the new king of Britannia.
