Taming Dragons
cBykar had spent a lot of time in the area around the New Haven moongate taming cows, hinds, wolves and bears. His skill had exceeded Expert level. Time to tame other creatures! Thus, McBykar traveled to the cold, snow covered Dagger Island to look for snow leopards. Many days of taming later, he was able to domesticate white wolves. It was time to move to other hunting grounds.
A friend had told him to tame bulls as soon as he was Adept. He knew that the farm of North Jhelom was frequented by annoying automated tamers, so he decided to go visit Delucia instead. If his memory served him well, he would find a few sheperds and farmers outside of the city palisades.
As his skill increased further, he started to try taming other creatures which he could actually use for fighting. He first tamed five hell hounds in Hythloth. These animals had a canine pack instinct, and five of them could kill an Earth Elemental in half a second. Very interesting indeed! He then got himself a Drake, a Bake Kitsune and a Nightmare. Those animals he did not need, he released near the Jolly Roger Inn so the pirates would have some fun fighting them.
With the help of jewelry, he boosted his taming skill up to 107. In theory, he'd be able to tame a Greater Dragon now - the king of the tamer's pet! From his previous encounters with Greater Dragons he had learned a lot about their behavior and weaknesses. McBykar equipped a Dragon Slayer spellbook, cast Gift of Life onto himself and entered Destard Dungeon. He isolated a Greater Dragon and slowly but steadily lowered his health with successive Energy Bolts. When the Dragon was close to death, the strenth of his fireballs had lessened a lot, and McBykar tried to tame the gigantic beast. He failed a lot, angering the dragon, but after a while he finally succeeded. He had tamed his first Greater Dragon!
