The Lords of the Eight Virtues

eanwhile, McBykar had learned a lot, especially how to handle a crossbow. He tested his aiming accuracy on various monsters, mostly with success. He had advanced to Expert Archer and was very proud of it. He even could take out a Troll all by himself. The advantage was that with a ranged weapon he could always keep a safety distance betwen him and the monster.

McBykar headed back to Trinsic to meet some of his friends. They had the idea to found the South Trinsic Rangers guild. Their goal would be to offer protection from murderers in the Trinsic outskirts. The group met in a tavern and discussed their goals and the guild name. Finally they agreed upon calling themselves "Rangers of the Ankh". They would fight against the evil and protect the places that were often haunted by criminals and other scum. Even Yolande, a beautiful but inexperienced girl, planned to join us eventually.

Unfortunately McBykar had to leave his new friends soon, for he had been invited to a meeting of the Lords of the Eight Virtues. Lord KugelBlitz had asked him if he wanted to become his squire. He was quite happy about this opportunity and agreed. Down at the headquarters of the Lords of the Eight Virtues, McBykar witnessed a knight named Uthar meeting Lady Goldmoon. Goldmoon told about here strange vision that had guided her to this place to follow and protect Uthar. We all wondered what that was about, but Uthar quickly agreed upon his new company.

There still was time before the meeting of the Lords of the Eight Virtues, so KugelBlitz showed McBykar how to trapp a monster with chests and train the Resisting Spells skill. It really worked well! The Water Elemental fired its spells on him while he could not get hit by it. All he had to do was heal myself or hide every now and then. However, McBykar soon found this method quite boring and ended the training by shooting the monster with my Crossbow. Then he suddenly noticed a stranger named Insulder hiding outside next to the entrance. McBykar was not green anymore. He knew that some people tried to sneak into the house while the owner was arriving or leaving and therefore had to unlock the door. Those looters and thieves would then either try to steal the house key, in which case they could unlock your house and steal everythig that was inside while you were away, or sneak into the house while the door was open. Of course, McBykar did not open the door but waited until this scum had disappeared.

During the meeting of the Lords of the Eight Virtues a lot of issues were discussed. Combat tactics, measures against murderers and house looters, adventures they planned. McBykar realized that this group had a lot of knowledge and knew how to compete in the world of Britannia. He was glad that he had been invited to join them.
