Traces of Ancient Days
n the meantime McBykar had become
a quite decent fighter. He had fought many dangerous monsters and sinister enemies. He had experienced the challenge of
dangerous dungeons, fought the Elemental and the Lich. The mysteries of this world had trapped him in a whirl of curiosity
and thirst for adventure. Ine day he packed some reagents into my backpack, took his crossbow and a set of bolts, and left
Trinsic heading south. After some hours of trudging through the dense tropical jungle, McBykar reached a large sandy shore.
On the shore he found a deserted fisherman's tent, worn by the salty air and the pitiless sun. The place was remote and
beautiful. One day, McBykar would certainly come back to this beach...

After a short break, McBykar continued to wander through the jungle and avoided the coastline, because that was usually the place were houses had been built and the probability of meeting a dangerous murderer was much higher. Tropical birds were singing and the humid air made him sweat beneath his green robe. Suddenly, McBykar heard a strange howling sound from ahead. Carefully he sneaked forward until he saw an ancient ruin through the bushes. The ruins were haunted by a Spectre which seemed to sense McBykar's presence and attacked. The adventurer aimed and shot, killing the ghost with a few shots.

The southern jungle seemed to hold many secrets, as quite a few mystical dilapidated buildings can be found there. Who were the people that once lived here? Why had their home been ruined? Why did they leave everything behind and vanished? All these unanswered questions occupied him while McBykar passed Skara Brae and headed north.

Half way to Yew, east of the Orc Fort, he found another ruin. At once he was attacked by an angry Lich, who cast one spell after another. McBykar got paralyzed, and before he was able to defend himself, he was dead. Fortunately he was able to find a wandering healer very fast, got resurrected and retrieved his belongings by hiding from the dangerous Lich. Then McBykar suddenly noticed that the Lich must have looted his bag of reagents and bolts! He now was not able to defend himself anymore. Fortunately he still had some feathers in his backpack, so he made wood and soon had fletched 20 bolts. Being more careful now, McBykar approached the Lich again and managed to kill him. He really found his bag on his corpse and looted it back.
