Adventures in the Wilderness
earing his brand-new outfit, McBykar felt like a new person. He set out for a new adventure, just to continue his journey of discovery. In the vicinity of the Shrine of Justice he found one of the rare Reapers. He engaged it with his crossbow and some spells, and soon the Reaper collapsed with a hissing sound. His next destination was the Yew Crypts. His plan was to mark a rune down there, so visiting this place would be easier in the future.
McBykar prepared to come across the Dark Elves again, but this time nobody showed up when he entered the ancient stone crypt. Not a single Drow was here. He followed the stairs downward and walked through humid tunnels. Suddenly he heard an evil laughter in the distance, which he knew only too well. It was the dangerous Lich! He didn't know that the Yew Crypts were home to monsters. The Lich approached and attacked. McBykar was struck by a lightning, but he had prepared well and the spell was reflected back to the Lich. A few bolts from McBykar's crossbow followed. It was a difficult and hard fight, but finally McBykar had won and could loot the ugly corpse of the undead.
After the rune was marked, McBykar travelled south and entered the jungles again. It was an area that had always fascinated him. On his way through the thicket he discovered an ancient graveyard. Weather and heat had eroded the gravestones, and the epitaphs remained indecypherable.
At the most southern tip of Britannia McBykar found a place that certainly must have had magical power long ago. He could almost feel the aura of magic! Maybe this will once be a place of doom? Seven marble pillars surrounded a circle of mushrooms. McBykar investigated the area carefully, but wasn't able to discover anything unusual. He still had a strange feeling...
At some nearby ruins a few skeletons awaited the traveler. McBykar was now skilled enough that these undead meant no threat
for him anymore. A few shots put them out of their misery.
Back to Trinsic he laid down to rest in the Rusty Anchor, but his thoughts traveled back to the places he had just discovered,
keeping him awake for many hours. Finally tiredness defeated his resltess mind and his exhausted body sank into a deep slumber.
