Fire And Ice

arious critters were guarding the area around the Fire Dungeon entrance in the Lost Lands. The pirate crew had met there to make an expedition, but first they had to free the way into the dungeon. Fire breathing serpents, lava lizards and hell hounds made the pirates sweat. Especially the efreet was dangerous, but with healing each other the pirates quickly killed the monsters and entered the dungeon.
In the Fire Dungeon similar creatures awaited them, and after a short walk and many slain hellhounds they reached an underground graveyard.

Three or four liches started to cast spells at the intruders. Hawkeye made the painful discovery that the liches' power had somehow increased, as they now cast more dangerous spells in a row than before. But even that challenge was mastered thanks to the reliability of a powerful party.

They continued to descend to the next level, and nobody of them was sure about what would await them down there. They had been there before many weeks ago, but the dungeons sure had changed since the last time.
Down there, small stone chambers could be found in some caves. Some of them contained fire elementals, and the one to the south was the home of liches and the lich lord. The pirates were already packed with so much gold and loot, that they decided to return to the surface soon.

Before storing away their riches though, they visited the chamber of the daemons. A large daemon awaited them, and it was quickly slain by the swift weapons of the crew. In the daemon chamber a big red pentagram was placed on the stone pavers. Hawkeye remembered the last time they had tried out the teleporter of this pentagram. But nowadays the secret cave was empty, only the flames still shot out of the floor in a circle.
A few minutes later the party returned to the surface at the Serpent's Hold docks, shared the loot and stored it away in their safe bank boxes. Alas they did not find one of those rare daemon's armor, the red bone armor which could sometimes be found on efreets.

The pirates were not tired yet, and they felt more thirst for adventure. So they decided to visit the Ice Dungeon, another dangerous place which Hawkeye hadn't visited since the dungeons had changed so much. The crew gathered at the entrance north of the dungeon Wrong, and prepared for battle.

The Ice Dungeon obviously was not very popular amongst other adventurers, for many many dangerous monsters crowded the frosty caves. The most dangerous were the arctic ogre lords, which lived in the western part of the dungeon. But the pirates met the challenge and successfully finished off the threat by performing excellent team work. Most of the fighters were very skilled in parrying, and were able to heal their comrades during the fight.

Many monsters were slain and lots of gold was gathered, before they headed for the northwestern part of the dungeon, where an entrance lead down to the home of the ice fiend. They didn't quite reach the entrance, for a giant white wyrm blocked their way. "Gather and heal each other!" Hawkeye shouted and lifted his shield as the dragon raised its claw to hew the pirate's head. A fierce battle broke lose, and the crew surely would have defeated the creature, if there hadn't approached many other dangerous monsters like frost elementals and ice elementals. Suddenly one pirate after another fell and their bodies might still lie down there preserved by the frost, if they haven't been eaten by the dangerous wyrm.
