The Smell of Sulphur
rys
Wyh, Garmac, Carl, Colstan Thuul, Helena and Hawkeye Pike stepped down the
stairs to the hot wells of Hythloth, when a strong smell of sulphur stung
their noses. Today they would look for loot and treasure in one of the
most dangerous dungeons of Britannia. The seas didn't yield much these
days, as the shipping merchants have become careful since the Pirates of
Buccaneer's Den were ruling the seas. The first encounter with imps, hellhounds and gargoyles have been ended quickly, and the six companions advanced deeper into the dungeon. As they walked east, they came across a chamber where the mysterious gargoyles lived. A fierce battle against flaming, searing, blazing, blistering, scorching, smoldering and sweltering gargoyles began, and the pirates felt how the heat that emerged from these creatures singed their clothing. |

After looting a lot
of gold the party continued to explore the dungeon. They found some stairs
which lead deeper down, and they descended carefully. They had heard of
the dangerous black daemon down there, and they knew they had to be
careful. But today this vile creature was not there. Instead they fought
some red daemons, which were no real challenge to them. Hawkeye remembered
the days long past, when daemons had been the most dangerous monsters of
Britannia. Now their hits could be easily blocked by a good shield fighter. After another hour the sweating pirates decided to leave the dungeon and store their gold in the bank. When they stepped out to the daylight, they brushed the ash from their clothes and inhaled the fresh air. Then they entered their boat to sail back to Buccaneer's Den. |
