The Final Farewell
awkeye Pike stared out onto the endless sea, pondering about the time he had spent all those years together with his pirate friends. Although his decision to leave Britannia forever was final, it still filled him with sadness to say good-bye to all those people who had grown so dear to him. He remembered the time he had spent with friends and foes, and pictures of previous adventures came into his mind...
He remembered the nights the United Pirates had sold their contraband at the Black Market on Buccaneer's Den.

The endless hours he spent with his crew in the Jolly Roger Inn, their pirate headquarter, indulging themselves in the excessive consumption of ale.

His own bad reputation that always had preceded him.

Several conflicts with the landlubbers and Elves from Yew, that often ended with an exciting and bloody battle.
![](../screens/987.jpg)
The fun he had with his crew mates while gambling, drinking and plundering on Buccaneer's Den.

Of course, the unforgettable disputes with their beloved enemies from the Virtue Village. Their relationship could be called the strongest community bonds that ever did exist.

The days he traveled through the world of Britannia all by himself, from magical Moonglow to the lowest corner of Covetous.

And the many landlubbers he had come across and scared, amused, entertained or bewildered during his journeys and adventures.

After he had divided all his belongings amonst the friends and companions who needed them most, Hawkeye Pike sighed deeply. There he was, standing by the docks of Buccaneer's Den, and all he had left was an empty bank box and the equipment he was wearing. Despite all the sadness and regret he felt for leaving his best friends behind, he also felt a little relieved. He had been passionate about many things. Maybe too passionate. He now would sail away and try to forget.
Many people had come to bid the pirate farewell. KugelBlitz, his friend and foe, honored him. Sonata, the wench he had once adored, kissed him good-bye. All his pirate friends brought ale and wine to numb the sadness.

They celebrated all night long, when it finally was time for Hawkeye Pike to leave. His friends had anchored a ship by the docks in his memory, and Hawkeye almost shed a few tears.

Hawkeye Pike finally entered his ship, raised the anchor and commanded the tillerman to unfurl the sail. This was the most difficult task Hawkeye ever had to accomplish.

His friends were still sanding by the docks waving him farewell, until his sail slowly vanished on the distant horizon of the Britannian Seas...
