The Outcome of a Tavern Night

The Galehaven Tavern was a cosy place with good ale, located by the coast close to the Fens of the Dead, north of Trinsic. It was built by the Purple Guardians of Honor, a guild who had a big village there. The pirates figured that after being marooned, this would be the perfect place for entertainment. The ale was flowing, and aside from some landlubbers complaining about Hawkeye Pike's dog, the pirates had a lot of fun.

The innkeeper, Laurana, seemed to be quite annoyed by the pirate's brawling and misbehavior. She finally asked the pirates to leave. But they did not think of leaving a place with good ale, and (to Hawkeye's opinion) with good wenches like Yashira.

Thus, Laurana challenged Hawkeye to duel her outside. If he won, they could stay. If he lost, they had to leave. Hawkeye agreed, and the pirates were cheering. Finally some distraction! They loved to gamble.
However, Laurana caught the drunken pirate off-guard and defeated him swiftly. Hawkeye was enraged! If he had to leave, he thought, he might as well take the wench along as a hostage. Maybe the pirates would receive a nice ransom.

Laurana's husband Nickcali was held back by the crew, while Hawkeye dragged Laurana along and took her to the United Pirates hideout, where he locked her up in his cellar.

Meanwhile, the Purple Guardians of Honor had captured Hawkeye's first mate, Norrar Swordhand. This was bad news! The pirates suggested a prisoner exchange, and secretly prepared a decoy. They gave a bag of gold to an innocent citizen of New Haven, dressed her up as Laurana, dyed her hair black and dragged her to the village of the Purple Guardians.

Somehow the knights of the village suspected a fraud, but they were confused because they saw Laurana obviously standing there. They hesitated. They discussed. They wanted to take a closer look. This was when the pirates grew more and more impatient, and finally lost their temper. The situation escalated, and the pirates finally had to run to the woods and hide. At least, Norrar Swordhand managed to escape. That's when they decided to head back to the Jolly Roger Inn.

Again, an attack wave washed over the pirates. The landlubbers had followed them and launched a big assault. The fights lasted a long time, and meanwhile Laurana had sneaked out of the prison with the help of one of her companions. The pirates managed to hold their settlement against the enemy, but the prisoner was lost, and thus was the ransom.
