Deep Sea Fishing
t was a stormy November. The waves bounced fiercely against the hull of the four pirate ships, making them rock. Any landlubber would have thrown up across the guardrail five minutes after leaving the beach. But pirates they were, and the sea was their home.
Hook had called for this gathering on the sea. Tammy Lanced, Trinsac and Hawkeye Pike had followed him. He lead them out a few leagues into the ocean, just off the coast of the Jolly Roger Inn. On Hook's command, the boats formed a square, leaving a small basin in the middle. Hook and Tammy had supplied the fishing nets. Lots of nets! Dozends! Because fish in the deep sea they would. They'd throw in many nets at the same time and see what they'd fish up from the depths of the ocean. From the basin formed by the boats, no sea monster would escape.
At a command, they cast five nets into the water, watching them disappear in the bubbling sea. For a few seconds, nothing could be heard but the splashing of the waves. Then suddenly, with a roar, several sea monsters emerged from the dark water, attacking those who disturbed their peace. The pirates walked out on the planks, swinging their blades against the vile creatures, slaying them all.
As the first round had almost been too easy, the pirates now decided to throw in 12 nets instead of four. The outcome was deadly for the crew. When they got resurrected in Britain and returned to their boats, the monsters had vanished again, back to the depths whence they came.
After the fishing event, Pete Ninefinger held a Ninjitsu training session by the Jolly Roger Inn. The lesson was very useful and informative, even for non-Ninjas. Pete pointed out very vividly the strengths and weaknesses of Ninjitsu. He explained all spells, described what they were good for and how they had to be used. He then performed hands-on demonstrations of the Ninjitsu spells and abilities. Even subjects like smoke bombs, shuriken, fukija and stealth were covered.
After one and a half hours, the participants had learned a great deal about being a Ninja. Maybe it was a good idea to repeat such training sessions with other skills in the future.
