Plundering a Caravan

he trap was perfect! A long line of chests hidden beneath a deserted guard tower bridge blocked the path for any passer-by. The road was a once popular connection between Trinsic and Britain. Nowadays, hardly any merchant or adventurer traveled here. People preferred the magic way of traveling. However, the United Pirates had received news from a spy that a caravan of pack horses loaded with valuable items would pass here today. Thus, the pirates had determined three spots along the road to set up an ambush. They expected the caravan to be guarded, so they had equipped themselves with good weapons.

They had guessed correctly: A number of skilled fighters from the Purple Guardians of Honor accompanied the caravan, but the pirates managed to capture two of the pack horses anyway. After the battle was over, they quickly lead the animals to a safe place before gathering at the second location. Four horses still had to be plundered! They had selected a narrow bridge for this purpose, and blocked the end with several crates. But this time, the soldiers had been more careful. They sent a vanguard to check this bottleneck. When the pirates noticed that their plan had been discovered, they quickly assaulted the group of landlubbers.

The third ambush was laid near Britain where two houses formed a constriction. Again, crates were used to block the escape route and prevent the victims from flying. The fight was more fierce than the two battles before. Weapons clashed and spells thundered through the woods. Blood and poison everywhere!

After a long fight the guardians had finally been outnumbered. Their plan had succeeded!

Back in the Jolly Roger Inn, the pirates gathered to split up the loot. They threw the dice to determine who would get what. Among the booty were items like Powder of Fortifying, large stacks of leather, arrows and ingots, checks of gold, fine weapons, and a barbed tailoring kit.

The scoundrels agreed upon throwing daggers onto the dartboard to determine the winner of the barbed tailoring kit. Splitting loot pirate-style! When everybody had received his share, the crew members Jonah S'feridan and Tammy Lancet attended a secret pirate ritual and swore the Oath of the Pirate Brethren. They now were worthy to receive a special title.
