Betrayal of Lord Casca
large crowd of people had gathered at the Counselor's Hall in Britain, curiously awaiting some news about the Kingdom of Britannia and its leadership. After a while, Robert the Royal Guard appeared, accompanied by Simon the Guardsman. Robert had disturbing news. He was preparing people to march into battle for Lord Casca - the self-proclaimed king. All were to assemble in the throne room of Lord British's Castle for further instructions.
As soon as the guadsman had vanished, Robert showed his true face. He wanted to prepare Lord Casca's betrayal and assassination! Robert the Royal Guard held a speech:
This day I have unsettling news to unearth to you. This day, woe befalls this land, betrayed stand its people! I stood by, ignorant, as Clainins life was bereft from him. I stood by, helpless, as Casca spoke to the shadows. Last night I tried to do my duty to the land, and Ive a tale to tell.
I crept through Blackthorns castle as darkness fell. Draped in an Oak Leaf Cloak, I moved as an assassin. I planned to undo Casca, to slay him in his own castle. I was foolish, asinine. I entered the meeting room and saw Casca sitting alone, his eyes shut. Perfect, I thought, as Casca slumbered. I was shocked when he began to utter words toward the empty air.
"The plans are complete. The fools war in Tokuno as you wish."
The only reply Casca recieved was the creak of his wooden chair. Still, he kept speaking to his dark surroundings.
"The guard serve me loyally, bereft of Lord British, none see their plight," Casca nodded vehemently as his face contorted in a wild grin.
"Yes! Yes! Tomorrow their fate is sealed!"
I sat by, perplexed, daring not to strike before I gleamed more information.
"Ah, it is well, the Dawn of her death shall soon come," Casca said with a chuckle.
"None will speak against us, I will reign, even the Empress thinks us allies, she is a mere tool."
I watched as Casca shifted in his chair uncomfortably.
"No, of course not, the soothsayer will not intervene. With my power, not even he can prevent what is to come!"
With that, a clap of power resounded in the council room. And Casca flew from his chair and landed hard against the wall. Slowly his form was dragged up the wall, held aloft by nothingness. Casca struggled mightily, his arms and legs flapped chaotically.
"Your power, I misspoke, it is your power which leads us, please!" he wailed.
I readied my sword to strike while Casca stood helpless. But I froze as a menacing voice echoed across the castle like an earthquake, the cup of water upon the table shook furiously until it crashed to the floor.
"Into the Darkness," it said.
They both disappeared. It is obvious he serves corruption, and we shall not serve it with him. We will carry out his task in Tokuno this night, but it shall be his last order. My people! Listen closely! He expects me to retrieve the Tokuno Invasion Plans from the enemy general. I have written false plans and hold them at my side. After the battle, he expects you all to meet him here, in this room, to congratulate you. This throne room shall be his burial ground!
Robert asked the people who would help him carrying out his assassination, and there were a lot of volonteers. He continued with his speech, explaining how the battle plans should be used to slay Casca:
When we return here after the battle, lure Casca with the battle plans down from the throne. He will come to retrieve them. When he comes down from the throne to accept them, draw your swords and slay him! It is our only chance, and I fear he may still be too powerful. For now, though, we must carry out his orders to receive our chance. Beware the battle we fight, there are two monstrosities of the Shadow Lords: The Shadows Bane and Darkness Bane, who lead the army in Tokuno. Beware their wrath! Fight well, be strong, and remember to meet here to slay Casca after we have defeated the army and Banes. Come my friends; follow me through this moongate!
A large army gathered by the Homare Moongate. Immediately, a large number of Tokuno monsters attacked them, and the battle begun.
Dragon pets were set upon the enemy, spells were cast, arrows were shot, weapons were wielded. Slowly, the center of the battle moved west into the Field of Echoes. Many lives were lost on both sides, and the battlefield was covered with dead bodies of friend and foe.
Suddenly, Sharkeye Pike discovered the Shadows Bane, one of the leaders of the Tokuno army. He readied his spells and began to cast at the black Yamandon creature. The beast was deadly! Casting spiderwebs, it pulled its enemies into its reach, to then strike with lethal poison. Soon, more fighters and a lot of monsters appeared, turning the scene into a mess again.
When the beast was finally slain, one fighter retrieved rancorous orders from the usurper from the corpse. Sharkeye was not able to find the corpse, as the battlefield was cluttered with too many dead things. Some people were - as always - annoyed that they died without getting a reward.
All who survived, returned to the throne room to finish the final task: The assassination of Casca. After a while, Lord Casca appeared and spoke to his people:
Hail, my citizens! I come only this day, to congratulate you all! You defeated two powerful enemies. Did any of you get any Tokuno artifacts?? Did anyone find the Tokuno Invasion Plans?"
When one fighter tried to lure Casca away from his throne to hand over the false plans, Casca suspected a betrayal. He then called his minions for his aid and shouted "BETRAYAAL!! FOOLS! DIE! Attack my minons! I AM UNSTOPPABLE!! AHAHAHAH!" He laughed like a maniac and vanished. A handful of Jukas suddenly appeared in the thrown room, who were quickly slain by the guards.
What a surprise! Casca a puppet of the Shadowlords! He even tried to betray the Empress, whoever that was. What would become now? Who would rule Britannia? How would the Shadowlords react? Would Casca strike again? Would he ambush Britannia?
