Minoc Miner Marauders

Several friends had warned me about the road from Vesper to Minoc, east of the river. This road usually was scene of ambushes, murders and other crimes. A lot of unsavory folk was roaming this street. But nevertheless I decided to dare wanter in this direction, because I wanted to visit the Minoc Mines. It must have been my lucky day, because I reached the bridge to the mining area unmolested.
When I reached the mining ground, there were less people working than I had expected. Two miners were hacking and carving away inside the cave, and when they saw me they immediately hid. I clamed them down, telling them that I meant no harm. They seemed to be satisfied with my explanation and continued with their work.

Suddenly, two heavily armored murderers appeared, slaying the fleeing miners quickly. I managed to hide, but I knew that they had seen me. There was no chance that I would defeat this scum! I had to run and try to make it to the western bridge that was leading into the town of Minoc, where Lord British's Guards would protect me. All these thoughts rushed through my head within a second.

I broke out of my hiding place quickly and ran for my life! However, the murderers did not seem to follow me. Never mind! I still tried to reach the safety of the town as fast as possible. As I ran up the stairs to the bride leading into Minoc, I suddenly was aware of a great number of people having gathered there. That's why the mines were so deserted! Obviously a number of criminals and evil folk had blocked the bridge and killed the minders just to prevent them from doing their job. Why would they do that? What was their motive? The miners did not do anybody harm, and the murderers obviously did not swing pickaxe nor shovel themselves. I guess they were killing the defenseless just for sports. That's what I despised them for. I was able to push through the crowd and reached Minoc safely. I had survived another exciting adventure!
