Homo homini lupus

One day while wandering through the woods a messenger approached me, shouting hastily:
"Quick, you have to come! I bring a message from Sage Humbolt, he is preparing for battle to destroy the liches Lathiari and Kyrnia."
The names of these vile creatures made me shiver. The messenger told me that Sage Winslow could be found in the Britain Library to gather an army. When I reached the library, a lot of warriors had already arrived. Winslow told us that Sage Humbolt was hidden in the depths of Deceit to fight the evil liches. Then suddenly he shouted: "Hold on, undead are attacking to the north. In the graveyard!"

When we used the rune he provided us and arrived at the graveyard north of Britain, battle was all around us! Bone Knights, Skeletons and lots of other undead creatures immediately turned on the intruders. The first fallen warriors were already lying in the dust, Lich Lords and Bone Mages yelled words of darkness and death.

While wielding my sword, I overlooked an Energy Vortex heading towards me. I felt some sharp pain flashing through my body, and I knew that this was my end. The poison was deadly.

Other fighters ran like jackals towards my dead body and started looting away. Every single item was ripped off my corpse. One of the looters shouted like a maniac: "Muahaha, 1st Division; Cookie Chefs, learn it!" Well, I learned it and I got his name. May his hair fall out and his teeth rot; and may his well-known ugliness be passed on to his children. May Orcs and Lizardmen always look upon him with lust in their eyes!

In company with several other ghosts I headed back to Britain to visit the healer. Equipped with my brand new grey robe I ran back to the graveyard to see the end of the battle. I was shocked! Corpses everywhere, a fighter running from an Ettin, but it seemed as the undead were defeated.
"The Liches are dead ..." shouted the people, and "Long live Lord British!" or "Lathiari and Kyrnia were defeated". The good news spread fast among the victorious warriors, even though the whole event had turned towards evil in its progress. Even though the liches were defeated, they managed to kill Sage Humbolt with a black poison against which every cure would fail.

When the battle was over, some jokers had nothing better to do but casting Blade Spirits among the folks who tried to retrieve the items from their dead bodies. Even after the monsters had been dealt with, a lot of honorable warriors found their death by the hands of even more dangerous and cowardly creatures: Man.
