Unsolved Riddles of Khaldun

The feeling of horror crept through their body when they descended the stairs to the dungeon Khaldun. This was the most dangerous place in Sosoria. No recalling, no gate travel, no resurrecting would work inside the dark caves.
Several zombie-like creatures attacked them. Their skin tone was of green hue, and they made strange sounds. Sambal and James quickly put an end to this threat, and proceeded deeper into the dungeon.
When they turned around a corner they saw something very strange: An armor was floating in the air, as if it was worn by an invisible person. This spectral armor was more dangerous than the inhuman beings near the entrance, but the two managed to slay it after some time. When it died it just vanished, leaving a magic weapon and a pile of gold coins lying on the ground.
The two adventurers discovered strange things in the cave systems. Rooms which seemed only be accessible through a secret door, dark caverns, and sarcophagi. They didn't have much time to explore though, as they were interrupted by a creature called Zealot of Khaldun. It was a tough enemy, even more dangerous than the spectral armor.

When a Zealot was slain, it vanished in a white cloud and a skeletal knight was summoned in its place. This skeleton was easily slain by the two experienced warriors, and it yielded about 1500 gold coins. Sambal suspected that you needed special kinds of weapons to slay the Zealot. It took them very long to kill it.
In a cave where the dungeon wall suddenly blocked their way, they discovered a secret entrance. It led to a tiny chamber, where they found a switch on the wall. Curiously Sambal pushed the switch, and they heard a grinding noise echoing in the distance. This switch just seemed to have revealed a secret to them.
After a few attempts they figured out that the switch seemed to cause a coffin in a nearby cave vanishing in the dark. When looking closely they discovered an inscription on the coffin's surface. The secret remained hidden from their eyes, although they also found out that by turning the golden statue in front of the coffin, the coffin would mysteriously appear again on the surface.

In a different cave they discovered the legendary Tentacles of the Harrower, the most powerful monster they had ever seen. It's mere presence sucked life energy out of the two fighters, and they hardly managed to escape alive.

After slaying several bone magi and skeletal knights, they came to a big hall with sarcophagi and glowing runes inside. Near the cave wall they discovered two dark boxes, where inside they found a strange riddle. The warning inside kept them from attempting to solve the puzzle, as they could not resurrect each other inside this dungeon.

Not very satisfied they left the dungeon, knowing that they would come back one day to solve the riddles and explore the real secrets of this horrible place.
