Three Rogues in the Ankh Dungeon
ucknog, Norrar Swordhand and Pete Ninefinger met by the Luna bank, equipped and ready for an adventure. They wanted to visit the Ankh Dungeon in Ilshenar to gather loot from the evil creatures dwelling beneath the ground of Ilshenar. All three were skilled rogues, especially Mucknog and Pete were masters of Stealth, while Norrar preferred the straight forward approach.
When they arrived at the Shrine of Humility in Ilshenar they decided to walk straight through the Nox Tereg swamp. Their destination was the Kirin Passage, leading through intricated mountain paths directly to one of the four entrances of the Ankh Dungeon.
While Swamp Tentacles proved to be one of the least dangerous creatures infesting the swamps, the Bog Things and Plagues Beast were much more dangerous. They were slain and looted nevertheless.
After passing the Lizardman Village in the southwestern part of Ilshenar the three fighteres arrived at the Burned Forest. The Kirin Passage was now very close. This was the time Norrar's offensive attack strategy caused some trouble. The three fighters were suddenly surrounded by Several Fire and Air Elementals, one of them being of Paragon nature. The latter was extraordinarily dangerous and moved faster than man could run. Fortunately both Mucknog and Pete were able to resurrect with bandages.
Finally they had slewn their way to the Kirin Passage entrance. What would await them inside?
It was mostly Earth Elementals, and even the Paragon Earth Elementals were no real threat to the skilled fighters. Their spirit lifted as they bashed along the narrow path in the mountain searching the Ankh Dungeon entrance. Their quest came to a sudden end when they stumbled across a Paragon Poison Elemental. It took the ghosts a while to run back to the shrine to get resurrected. When returning to their bodies the Poison Elemental was still guarding them. Thanks to their stealth skill they were able to gather their belonings and proceed without further trouble to the dungeon entrance in the northeastern corner of the Kirin Passage.
Should you ever require reagents, slaying the evil mages will guarantee your supply. Time to proceed deeper into the dungeon!
Engaging the Blood Elemental proved to be more challenging. While Norrar allured the monster, Mucknog and Pete waited hidden to surprise their victim and backstab it. Those Ninjitsu skills were quite useful for dungeon adventurers.
They finally reached an undergroud graveyard infested with Skeletal Knights, Liches and some Paragon creatures. Everything went well until they met a Paragon Lich Lord, one of the most foul undead creatures. The health of the three fighters dropped significantly fast. One by one they fell, but they were lucky Mucknog was able to perform a Shadow Strike, which made him instantly invisible. He survived and resurrected his two buddies, while the Lich Lord rummaged through one of the bodies and looted Pete's gold. Now it was getting personal! Again they started a fierce attack, and this time Pete Ninefinger was the only surviver while the Lich Lord rummaged through Mucknog's body. It had taken his bandages. So bandages were split and the three tried a new strategy. Pete and Mucknog cast the Ninja spell "dog-form", which guaranteed a very fast hit point regeneration. And they used mirror images of themselves to distract the monster. Finally they were able to take revenge and kill the Lich.
After this successful adventure the three returned to Luna. Each one carried around 10,000 gold pieces of loot and some magic items which had to be stored safely into the bank boxes.
