The Forgotten Pyramid

ook and Pete Ninefinger mounted their horses as they got ready for a long ride down to the Malas desert. They had heard of an ancient landmark called the Forgotten Pyramid. The two pirates were curious to explore the secrets of Malas, a landmass still unknown to Pete Ninefinger. Hook and Pete left Luna through the south gate, making a short break at the Grand Arena.

This place was specifically built to hold the once so popular bagball game events. However, the lawn looked like no player had set foot on the field for a long time.

The Bridge of the Divide was a magnificent piece of craftsmanship connecting two main continents of Malas. Pete wanted to get across as quickly as possible. He didn't feel too confident with all the strange stars beneath. Malas sure was no place for a pirate. Not only the lack of water, but also the cluttering of the landscape with most ugly landlubber houses added to his increasing discomfort.

They passed by a camp of elvish Brigands near the road leading to the south. The brigands often played with wildfire, setting the road and its surrounding on fire. The two adventures put an end to the mischief. The road was now safe again for a while.

A strange tunnel and several bridges lead Hook and Pete to the Umbra mainland. Bridges there were many in Malas, especially on the Crumbling Continent.

When they passed through the last tunnel they were surprised by a bunch of overzealous Orcs. They met the same destiny as the Brigands. No other travellers could be seen on the road whatsoever. No wonder evil creatures were able to establish camps and outposts all over Malas.

A little forther to the east Pete and Hook diverted from the road heading towards the desert. As they passed the forest they came across a very strange creature. This Treefellow was quite harmless in nature and unique to look at.

Finally the two travelers reached the desert of Malas. Another brigand was hidden between the dunes. This time Pete Ninefinger and Hook quickly passed, as the knew the Pyramid was near and they were anxious to see this great landmark.

Here it was, buried in the hot sand! A monumental construction ancient times. The Forgotten Pyramid! After looking around a bit the two adventurers finally found a slope of debris which allowed them to ascend to the top of the Pyramid. There they saw the stairs leading down into the building.

Inside the place was infested with undead creatures roaming between the sarcophags and ancient vases. Another strange lion-like creature, a Sphynx, sneaked through this ancient tomb, but fortunately it left the two humans alone. When many undead were slain Hook and Pete decided to test the strength of the Sphynx and slay it.

They found a secret exit on the ground floor of the Pyramid. While Hook waited outside, Pete sneaked up to the Sphynx and backstabbed it. It immediately attacked, and Peet lured it out of the Pyramid into the desert, where his friend had his bandages ready. The two fighters did not manage to slay the Sphynx. It simply was too strong for the two. They decided to call it a day and head back home. Pete knew he would come back one day to talk to the Sphynx one more time...
