Fishing For Boots
awkeye Pike's new fishing pole, made out of Yew wood, was particularly nice: It had the ability to regenerate hit points. Today's goal was clear. He'd go fishing for 3 hours and see what he would catch. He expected a lot of old shoes, but what else would a grandmaster fisherman pull out from the depths of the ocean within 3 hours? Hawkeye entered his vessel - The Drunken Corsair - and told the tillerman to raise the anchor. Time to venture to the deep sea!
The pirate constantly swung his pole and fished until it was getting dark. He had brought a lantern so he could continue at night. He disturbed lots of Sea Serpents, who surfaced beside the ship and had to be slain. Some of them carried messages in a bottle, treasure maps or even special fishing nets in their stomach. When dawn was coming, Hawkeye was tired and navigated his boat back to the shore. He laid out the loot on the beach and started counting...
This catch would take any cobbler out of business. How by Neptun did all this footwear get into the ocean? Were they the remains of unlucky seafarers? Had a cobbler's merchant ship sunk nearby? Nobody would ever know. After three hours of constant fishing, Hawkeye Pike had pulled up the following loot:
- Fish: 856 (equals about 4324 fish steaks)
- Footwear: 78 shoes/boots/sandals
- Mess of small fish: 31 (different types)
- Fished up Sea Serpents: 28
- Fished up Deep Sea Serpents: 4
- Sea serpent scales: 256
- Messages in a bottle: 11
- Plainly drawn treasure maps: 7
- Special fishing nets: 1
- Looted gold: 2055 gp
- Big fish: 3 (21 - 110 stones)
- White pearls: 2
