Aegis' Doom
ews about evil forces threatening the town Aegis had been spread. Events like these always were a welcome opportunity for the pirates to gather some treasure or quickly grab valuable items, artifacts or heirloooms during the kerfuffle, and be it from the ruins of Aegis' houses. Sharkeye checked his selection of dark magic spellbooks, nodded in silent satisfaction and left his home, traveling to the Yew Forest. Aegis was located a short walk south of the Yew Moongate, and as the pirate reached the place, the night was dark and the forest was silent. He quickly looked around, recognizing several landlubbers in full armor, their weapons drawn and ready. As he looked down at a strange black relic in the shape of a skull lying on the ground, Sharkeye knew the landlubbers would be busy tonight and not interfere with pirate business.
"As certain as the rising moon, the coming days spell Aegis' doom." Those were the letters engraved into the flaming skull.
After a while, suddenly strange creatures were emerging from the skull, among them a black Daemon named Ix Tab. He announced the fall of Aegis, mutilated one of the fighters in front of the shocked eyes of the present fighters, and then summoned his evil minions. Hell broke loose!
From a violet moongate numerous dangerous daemons, balrons, and undead creatures appeared, immediately throwing themselves onto the small army that had gathered here. The first attack was repulsed quickly.
With the next wave, a number of Shadowlords appeared, supported by hordes of Daemons. The forest was filled with the noise of battle and the cries of both monsters and fighters.
A dark explosion erupted as one of the Shadowlords was finally defeated, but it was not over! Almost for one hour the woods had been under attack, and Sharkeye's gloves smoked and almost glowed from his endless spellcasting.
Finally, as the last horde of Daemons was taken down, the black Daemon who had orchestrated this invasion finally vanished through his purple moongate, but not without shouting more threads towards the citizens of Aegis. The ground was cluttered with piles of dead monsters, and also with corpses of those men who had fallen in defense of their hometown.
