Boat Speed Race

ne autumn evening, the United Pirates called the people of Britannia to participate in a speed race across the seas. The boat race would lead on a straight course from the coastline by the Jolly Roger Inn southward to the next coastline, and back again. Several seafarers came to attend the race, and lined up their vessels along the beach. On both sides, the course was marked by lanterns Hawkeye Pike had placed shortly before the race. On a signal, the captains commanded the tillermen to set sails.

What they didn't know was that a number of surprises were waiting for them. Hawkeye Pike had anchored several deserted ships on the course, so the participants had to navigate around them. Also, about one dozen of Water Elementals had appeared somewhere on the race track and began casting spells at the crews.

Not every captain made it back to the finish line alive. SinDee proved to be the most adept navigator. She won the race, followed by Aneirin and Slappy McGee.

The new village flag which was placed by the Gods showed every traveler and adventurer what ground they stood on: The Red Skull Bay. The pirate village was now officially recognized by the crown, and Hawkeye wondered whether this was a good thing. Maybe the crown could be convinced to grant immunity to the United Pirates for their activities on the seas...?
