Pirate Festival
t had been a while since the pirates had invited people to their Red Skull Bay to celebrate and have fun. Today was the day of the Pirate Festival. In cooperation with WRR, Britannia was informed that a big party would take place in the Jolly Roger Inn, and many came. Magical gates brought in people from Luna and New Haven, and the Captain announced the forthcoming games and events, while free ale was served to all guests.
The first game was a dagger throwing contest. But not a regular one. This time, the participants did not only have to try and hit in the center of the dartboard, they also had to demonstrate a special throwing style. A good throwing technique would be rewarded with extra points. The crowd witnessed some dangerous, funny and most exotic dagger handling. One participant kicked his dagger towards the target, another one juggled with various sharp objects and thrust them all at once at the dartboard, and one tried to throw backwards over his shoulder. At the end, Hawkeye Pike decided to make a special demonstration of dagger throwing. He took a running jump and hurled the dagger, but missed the target, hit his friend Scarst instead and stumbled into his sword. This demonstration painfully went awry.
The second adventure was the Hunt for Wicked Pete. Pete had stolen a bracelet and hid himself near Britain in Felucca. The crowd was to find him and hunt him down, while Pete would make a running for the Trinsic moongate. Wicked Pete, a master of hiding fooled the crowd for quite some time with running, evading and using smoke bombs, until a spell finally stopped him. Back in the Jolly Roger Inn, the winner who had retreived the bracelet received a valuable reward.
The third game was the Contest of Insults. Six participants had to prove their skill of psychological warfare. They had to demoralize each other with insults, that were judged by quality, ingenuity and inventiveness. The two best contestant were rewarded with weapons of top quality that were engraved to distinquish the wielder as a grandmaster of psychological warfare. The crowd had a lot of fun and the barkeep certainly made good business tonight. It was late at night when the last guests staggered out of the Jolly Roger Inn and made their way back home.
