Andrej Pike, Grandmaster Fletcher

t had been a nuisance for years. His brothers stayed away from archery weapons on principle, since the skilled craftsman of the family - Andrej himself - had no knowledge of bowcrafting and fletching. It would have been too complicated getting the necessary supplies for archery and acquiring decent weapons. Now, since Andrej Pike had finished crafting the armor and weapons for his family, he had some spare time. He decided to finally delve into the art of bowcrafting. Over the years he had collected thousands of boards, which now would come in handy for learning and training. He knew that the elves of Heartwood had good knowledge of woodcrafting and even would offer assignments where the learning crafter could earn some rewards. So he grabbed his Giant Beetle, loaded it with boards and traveled to Yew. He spent many hours and days in the big tree of Heartwood until he was expert bowcrafter.

Since the last lessons to become grandmaster were the most difficult ones, he decided to fall back on an old trick. He took as many resources as he could carry and traveled to the Twisted Weald in Ilshenar. There he found one of those creatures they call Satyr. He made the Satyr discord him and started fletching away. Andrej now was able to proceed his training with less use of material and stacked hundreds and thousands of bows in the garden of the Twisted Weald.

Many hours and a total of 40,000 boards later Andrej was so nimble and skilled with his fletching tool that he crafted a fine bow of exceptional quality and even engraved his name into the wood. He now was grandmaster fletcher! With a sigh of relief he lowered the tool and packed his belongings. His hands would now rest for a couple of days.
