Queen Dawn's Demise

Humility was the key! Dawn, Queen of Britannia, suggested to bless weapons with Humility in order to defeat the evil Virtuebane who tried to corrupt the people's hearts. She called for a big meeting in the throne room of her castle to explain her plans. She had to do it by herself, since her husband Ors has been missing for several days. Rumor had it that he was kidnapped by Virtuebane himself. But Queen Dawn had a strong heart. She would finish what had been started.

Queen Dawn and her followers arrived at the Shrine of Humility in Ilshenar, where she explained her plans. The crowd was listening carefully. Then Dawn took a sword and blessed it at the shrine. She now had the weapon she would use against the daemon Virtuebane.

The unexpected appearance of Ors took everyone by surprise. Dawn's lost husband had returned! But he looked a bit odd, slightly dazed and disoriented. But the Queen was so happy about the return of his love that she neglected those disturbing signs and embraced him. Suddenly Ors pulled out a dagger and before anyone could do anything about it he ran it through Dawn's heart. The people were frozen with horror, watching their Queen's lifeless body drop to the ground.

A moment of shock went by. Then all of a sudden Ors seemed to wake up from a dream, seeing the dead body of his beloved wife. When he realized what he had done, he was so full of despair that he took his own life. Out of nothing the giant figure of Virtuebane appeared, looking around pleased. He had betrayed and defeated the Queen by using her husband Ors against his will as a puppet.

Then all hell broke loose. A number of deadly Blackrock Elementals spawned and attacked the crowd. Many people died during this long battle at the Shrine of Humility.

When finally the last Blackrock Elemental had been slain, the corpses of Dawn and Ors were picked up and carried back to Britain. A silent crowd followed, honoring their Queen for the last time.

Queen Dawn was lain down on her bed in the Castle British, so people could come and pay their respect. Even now, as all life had been drained from her, her pale face still looked beautiful. "Fare thee well Queen Dawn", Pike murmured. "Thou will be missed."

Several days later a funeral took place by the headland north of the Empath Abbey in Yew. Flowers were planted around her grave, and the tombstone was engraved to honor her achievements for Britannia and her people.

It was just during that time when the island of Magincia was invaded by Blackrock Elementals. Later Virtuebane was defeated in a big battle and Magincia was free again. It was to be rebuilt and renamed to New Magincia. Britannia was free once again.
