Sanctuary

alis Moonbeam and McBykar had met a few days ago in the dungeon Destard. They decided that it was a good idea to join forces, as they were both skilled Arcanists. By casting the spell Arcane Circle while standing on a pentagram they were able to receive an Arcane Focus, which increased their Spellweaving power for the duration of some hours. Empowered by such a spell, the two Arcanists decided to pay the Sanctuary Dungeon a visit.

While some of the cratures were standing behind barricades, others were roaming freely, attacking the two intruders. Especially the Ratman Archers were an annoying threat. While the Changelings were a common threat to melee fighters, the two mages didn't have any problems with them.

As they slowly proceeded further down into the underground city, more and more monsters appeared. The two companions cast Energy Vortices and Nature's Fury continuously, but whenever a few monsters were killed, new ones appeared. It was quite challenging to control such a large number of enemies. After a while they decided to go to Destard again and slay some Dragons.

Carefully McBykar and Talis Moonbeam proceeded to the lower levels of Destard where the Ancient Wyrm has its lair. On their way down they entered a cave that was controlled by Drakes and Daemons. After a long and hard battle the cave finally was in the hands of the two Arcanists.

Finally they stood face to face with the Ancient Wyrm. This creature embodied both beauty and death. It was important to keep a safety distance, as the spells of the Ancient Wyrm were most powerful and dangerous. The two adventurers decided to first distract it with Nature's Fury and then cast Energy Vortices to finish it off. The plan worked! Finally the beast was defeated.
