The Daemons of the Guardian

he gem of immortality had been destroyed, killing the Shadow Lords and Lord Casca, but a few shards of the gem were still intact. Those three crystal fragments held the power of resurrection.

Owain Surrey had recovered those fragments and hid them in Benedict's Lab. (This lab was a place of ancient history, where Benedict once had held Ewan the Brewer prisoner and had forced him to brew a series of poisoned ale that was eventually distributed to the cities of Yew, Britain and Kinship, leading to a deadly plague, a long time ago. The secret entrance to this lab can still be found as a couple of old stone stairs in the eastern part of the Delucia Passage in Felucca. To enter, you have to speak the password "Ranatos".)

The black demon Ix Tab, who once had invaded Aegis and helped to resurrect Relvinian from a long forgotten gravestone in the middle of the Hedge Maze, appeared unexpectedly at Benedict’s laboratory, attacking Owain and stealing the shards from him. After his resurrection, Relvian, the crafter of the maze, had returned in the form of a Lich and now decided to join powers with Ix Tab. Ix Tab's goal was to gain power over the kingdom of Britannia, with the help of the crystal fragments and the support of Relvinian. In return for helping Ix Tab, the demon promised Relvinian that he would get the chance to retaliate upon the humans and elves for his long suffering. Relvinian agreed.

Today, Owain Surrey summoned the citizens of Britannia to the Counselor's Hall in Britain, to discuss how the menace can be put to a halt.

In a discarded journal he found in the Hedge Maze, Sharkeye Pike read that Ix Tab and Relvinian kidnapped the scholar Giri Ui, as he knew the art of demon summoning. Giri Ui locked up his mind to protect the information from the enemy, but must be rescued before he would weaken and reveal any information. The journal lead him to the woods north of Skara Brae, where Sharkeye came across an ophidian called Orisish, who promised to help if he'd get the ingredients to make a potion which would turn him into a human.

Sharkeye received the next hint from Leoric, whom he found at the guard tower to the north (not to the north-east, as Orisish wrongly stated). Leoric sent him to the graveyard of Moonglow, where the pirate found another note, sending him to Benedict's Lab. Sharkeye knew that location and headed straight for the Delucia Passage in Felucca.

However, the old password did not work anymore. A new one was assigned, and when Sharkeye Pike learned about it, he was able to enter the secret passage to the lab. There he found on a stone table the recipe for the transformation potion.

When Sharkeye returned the ingredients to Orisish, he received one piece of the coordinates with each item. Then the Ophidian demanded a fire horn, upon which he revealed the password needed to enter the place where Giri Ui was supposed to be hidden.

The secret entrance was not far from the place of the lingering Ophidian, and actually Sharkeye Pike was teleported into a hidden underground cave. There he found Giri Ui locked up in a cell. From him he learned that Giri found the ritual to summon the Daemons of the Guardian, but Ix Tab and Relvinian tried to enter his nightmares to find out that secret. To break the spell that was locking up Giri Ui, the pirate was sent to several mage shops in Britannia to find the four words of power.

Sharkeye had no problem finding the hints and quickly returned to Giri Ui.

Upon speaking the words of power, he was transported into a cellar. The quest was solved, he was able to contribute his part to the freeing of Giri Ui! As a reward and souvenir, he received an engraved mage hat.
